Partnering With Parents
After the summer ends, we strive to partner with our camp families to maintain relationships that last throughout the year.
Immediately after camp, you’ll receive a camper report, written by your camper’s counselor. This report is a personal summary of your child’s time at camp. It includes friends made, favorite activities, achievements reached, and anecdotes from the summer. Many families cherish these cabin reports and consider them “scrapbook items” to keep for years.
Each fall, we travel around Texas to host camp reunions and connect with our camp families in person. At these reunions, we hand out our free Camp Champions yearbooks. Our full color yearbooks have photos of every camper and cabin and are perfect for reminiscing about the fun summer days spent on the shores of Lake LBJ.
We also love to stay in touch with you via mail, email, and social media throughout the year. Your camper will receive several postcards from some of their favorite staff members, and maybe even some fun camp updates. Don’t be surprised if we call you during the year just to see how you’re doing! Lastly, we update the Camp Champions Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok regularly, so it’s a great way to keep in touch.
“I appreciate the child-development aspect Champions offers. The camp doesn’t just occupy my children’s time for three weeks. It actively helps build their character. It teaches value lessons through positive example and engaging discussion. It’s like the difference between a hired babysitter and a grandparent. Camp Champions cares enough to INVEST the time and effort it takes to make a difference in campers’ lives. When I send my children there, I feel like I am sending them to be with family. They really are partners in the parenting process. Like, truly.”
